Books & Bites

First Sunday of the Month during Program Year,

9:00 am

Books & Bites provides a forum for members of the congregation to discuss a book that they have read together. They meet on the first Sunday of the month during the Rector's forum 9-9:30 on Sunday mornings during the program year.

Although some of the discussion time is book specific, questions that address broader themes provide an entry point for participation by those who were simply curious or who had been unable to read that month’s book selection. Information about the upcoming book is available here.

Lent Book Study

Calvary will join the Diocese of Western New York, Presiding Bishop Michael Curry and Episcopalians across the country in reading the Gospel of Luke. We will read about a half chapter daily, beginning February 11, the Sunday before Ash Wednesday.

Our Wednesday evening potluck discussions, starting 6:30 pm on February 21, will be on these readings, using reflections in the book A Journey with Luke (available from the Calvary Church office for $10 or online as an eBook at $9.95). A schedule of the daily Scripture readings is available online at and free resources at See The Rt. Rev. Curry’s invitation to this program at

Don't miss these very special Wednesday evenings in Lent... Enjoy a meal with friends and enter into a discussion led by Father Robert to make this Lenten season more meaningful.

Good Grief

Good Grief is a support group for anyone who is having difficulty with a loss. It may be a pet, a divorce, or death of a loved one...whatever it is you are suffering, feel free to bring yourself and share, if you wish, your hurt with a group willing to listen. Or listen to the stories of others. It all can help. People of any - or no - denomination are welcome.

Good Grief usually meets the last Saturday of the month (except November and December) at 9:30 am.
